Your duties as a Buyer will include:
• Raising manual purchase orders
• Negotiating the best price and lead times from suppliers
• Identifying opportunities for innovation, cost savings, waste reduction and continuous improvement
• Reducing the number of requisitions and utilising the stock system
• Managing and setting up contracts
• Obtaining quotes and updating stock cards
• Checking the usage on export orders, to maintain the correct quantity is being ordered
• Ensure that orders are placed in a timely and appropriate manner and that lead times and delivery schedules are appropriately managed
• Supplier Non-Conformances processing
You will have previous experience of working as a Buyer ideally within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment along with being technically minded.
In addition, you will be a confident decision maker, a strong communicator and have the ability to manage your time effectively.
